Summer time / Living is Easy ? / July Give A Way -

Pergola is almost ready. Can't wait. Thank you Rudy ..

Sun dried tomatoes with fresh garlic and basil in extra virgin olive oil a dash of salt and pepper.

Harvest from the Garden:
Basil, green and yellow squash

The economic times in the country is really not the best. Yet, we are hopeful and carry on .. as usual. We are a resilient bunch and even though we are not as happy with the political climate and all the (empty) promises that were given .. we are still hopeful.

The saying is .. where there is life .. there is hope. And so, we hope, for good health care, more jobs, etc.

This was written by a dear friend and mentor:

Life’s task is to be like an otter, seeking adventure and joy in our
endeavors, instead of being like a beaver, always tied to work that
must be done and feeling guilty when it is not accomplished.

Those dried tomatoes in oil look absolutely delish! Did you treat them with anything? I know the commercial ones usually are treated to make sure no botulism spores are present. Herbs-n-oil are a great growing medium. I really don't mean to be a downer, I just don't want anyone to go through the problems that can cause.

Hi Deb: I buy the sun dried tomatoes then I prepare them with my own fresh herbs. they never last long enough for me to worry about anything growing in them .. thanks for the heads up though. besides they are for the family and friends only ..

Wow your tomatoes look really good. The give away looks really great also. I have been trying hydrosols but I don't know enough about them yet. I ordered a book about them last week so I hope to be learning more soon. I hope you are having a great summer as we are here in Sunny and hot South Carolina.
I would love to win this awsome gift. Count me in
Thanks

The pergola looks marvelous (as does the garden harvest)! I recently learned about hydrosols, too, but don't yet know much about them yet so am very keen to learn. :)
